Hello all, well I thought I'd bring you my first card design for the new year, My inspiration came from a digi stamp from Make It Crafty <------- click here this totally sweet girl is the very lovely Tress Joyful, she is she so adorable and so relaxing to colour in too. My aim this year is to use my Silhouette Cameo a lot more than what I normally do, so I can get even more value out of this super awesome machine.
On with the card itself, Started with with piece of pink A3 card which I cut down to 21.3 x 10.5 cm and folded to make a tent fold card. Next I went into Silhouette software and cropped the MIC image and added offset as stitched line and created another offset to create a cut line then cut it out on the Silhouette. I coloured in the digistamp using WHSmith artist's colouring pencils. Then I cut down a strip of tracing paper (excellent alternative to vellum, better value too) and stamped birthday using acrylic block and perfect medium stamp pad, heat set it with heat tool then folded the strip around the card and adhere to the back of the matt with double sided tape. (making sure it was positioned correctly to suit "Happy" cutout)
Using the Silhouette cameo software I typed "Happy" using one of my favourite fonts and cut out three times on the Silhouette, I adhere two of them together with Zig fine glue pen and the third I heat emboss using clear embossing powder and a heat tool (repeated this three times to create glossy finish) then adhere to the other two to this embossed one with the same Zig fine glue pen.
Now I adhere sheet of EVA fun foam to the back of the stitched matt with some double sided tape, then adhere to card blank using double sided tape. Glued the "Happy" just left of the middle of the card (just above the birthday) with Zig fine glue pen. Made my own enamel dots using my Silhouette Cameo, cut out 4 and 5mm circles and using foam mat and round embossing tool, gently rub in circular motion on the back of the circles, to create a dome effect then heat embossed them three times each using clear embossing powder (to create that shiny glossy effect) and adhere the dots to the card using Stix2 mini foam pads. (Top tip - used cocktail stick and ball of blu tac or sticky tac to make the embossing easier) To finish I applied a little clear wink of stella to her headband, earrings and bangles.

What fantastic colouring Missy. So soft and natural looking. the offset stitching is brilliant, I must try that for bigger shapes, as I have some dies that do it too. have a good week. Linda x

Oooh I love this card, Missy. Pretty and girly and just soooo sweet. I like how you've positioned the image to the side, off the page and reaching out in the opposite direction. Cleverly composed. And your colouring.... like I said on FB ... Flawless! There's a soft warm glow to her skin and hair ... two of the hardest elements to colour IMHO. Well done, my friend!
