Taking a break

Just to let you all know that I will be taking a break from crafting and blogging for while, due to personal reasons and health problems. I have had few health problems of late and need to concentrate on getting myself back on track. I am hoping it won't be too long and hoping to get myself blogging regularly but I hope for now you will all understand and appreciate my reasons. I will be still on Facebook and Instagram.

I don't mind if I do | Silhouette Cameo

Hello all, can you believe it's April?.. I  certainly can't believe how fast the months are flying by, it's certainly a scary thought. Well today I decided to share my latest card with you, what with the spring weather coming soon (let's hope!) and of course the summer coming soon, I thought let's design a fun and summery card. These drinks could be milkshake (I've not had one of those since I was kid) or soda maybe...I could just do with a orange soda, why is it that I can't not say orange soda without thinking of the Kenan and Kel show, when Kel says "who loves orange soda?" it still makes me laugh even today.

On with the card, started with A2 (US) size card folded to the left, I cut out stitched rectangle on the Silhouette Cameo using PL 200gsm white card, cut three drinks containers using coloured linen card a die cut element from Silhouette store, next applied a little distress inks (in the colours of the drinks) on the edges of the drink containers using a small piece of cut and dry foam.

Applied a piece of fun foam to the back of stitched rectangle using double sided tape and adding double sided tape to other side so I could adhere the matt to the card blank. Glued the three drinks containers down using zig fine glue pen and making sure they were aligned correctly. In laid the coloured hearts in the drinks containers with the same zig fine glue pen.

Next I took strip of tracing paper (this is inexpensive alternative to vellum and works just as good) rub over with cornflour in pop sock to act as anti static and stamped "It's your day" using CB mini messages and perfect medium ink pad with acrylic block. Poured over with wow clear gloss regular embossing powder and heat set with heat tool.  Attached the strip to the card by adding a little glue dot to the back of the word your and affixing the two ends onto the back of the card with scotch magic tape.

Added a few sequins in the same colour scheme as the drink containers, adhere them glue dots micro dots and finally for the finishing I added a little of the clear wink of stella to each of the hearts.

I thought I'd share clip of the show I was talking about early in the post, watching this brought back memories of watching this on BBC Live and Kicking on Saturday morning...what bliss!!
