Colouring with watercolour

Hello there, well I am back again with another creation that I managed to do yesterday. My inspiration for this card started when I recently picked up some lovely watercolour card from The Works, it gave me the excuse to get my watercolour pencils out and start playing.

Started with 29.2cm x 9.9cm folded at the top, next is to create blue card matt slightly smaller than the blank card and adhere it with double sided tape. I then cut a piece of the watercolour card down to make it slightly smaller than the blue card, making sure it had equal frame all the way round.

Stamped the Bebunni rubber stamp using versafine onyx black ink pad on the watercolour card, then stamped the same image again on some scrap copy paper and cut that image out, sprayed CC stick and spray on the back and masked the bebunni image. Using TH tumbled glass distress ink and latex smoothie, I blended gently around the image using the technique of tapping the first ink onto scrap piece of paper. Taken the mask off to show the image underneath.

Now I coloured the image in using Faber Castell colour grip watercolour pencils and Kuretake water pen to blend the colour out. Once finished colouring the image, I did use my heat tool to dry it quickly instead of leaving it to dry.

Using some glitter pens, I gently went over parts of the image to highlight the image. Finished off by using some portofino card and stamping the sentiment from CB stamps mini messages with memento tuxedo black ink pad. Cut the sentiment down in rectangle and adhere it with pinflair glue gel. Added three adhesive pearls to accent the card.

  3. Your card is absolutely gorgeous, such a lovely image beautifully coloured. I'm not sure if you realised the Less is More challenge is 'Berry Shades' as you haven't mentioned it in your post but the pink and blue do sort of qualify :)
