Neat & Tangled | Better Together

Hello there, today I have the absolute pleasure to be guessing over at My Mum's Craft Shop for the month of May. I decided to use this super cute image from Neat and Tangled Better Together set, thinking this would make a super cute card for a little boy.

Started by cutting out the A2 stitched circle aperture panel from neenah card and the grass border from green card using the Silhouette cameo. I stamped the little boy image on sketch paper first and using the Silhouette software, scanned the image and using the trace tool to cut die cut shape around the little boy (This is direct scan and does NOT save the scanned image the computer and hence does NOT infringe any copyright as your not saving anything and are just using the cameo as pair of scissors to cut out the image) once you have a cut out I stamped the little boy image onto the cut out using DIY stamp tool and versa fine onyx black ink. Coloured with WHSmith coloured pencils.

Placed the A2 stitched panel with circle aperture and drawn a faint line with pencil around the circle, then using my DIY stamp tool stamped the sentiment with versa fine onyx ink and rubbed out the pencil lines. Placed the grass cut out to the bottom of the panel and adhered to the panel with strong double sided tape. Added double sided foam tape to the rear of the panel (top tip - I always use a glue stick onto the double sided foam tape has this gives me more wiggle room to position the panel correctly) and placed on the card blank.

Added double sided foam tape to the back of the little boy image and placed on the card just left of the sentiment. Finally added a few white novo drops to finish.

Interested in the products used, below I've prepared a list for your convenience, just click on the wording or images to be taken to the stores I've used. No affiliated links are used.

Do you have electronic die cutting tool? if so which one or ones do you own? I just couldn't be without my beloved Silhouette Cameo.

  1. I know you love your Cameo! You get loads of use out of it. I just think I'd never use one if I got it, or maybe I'm wrong! I quite like fussy cutting and my die cutting machine - I like my craft room to be quite manual. This is such a cute image and such a cute card. I like how you've added in the grass and the blue background. Coloured perfectly as always with your coloured pencils. xx

  2. Aw thank you Ruth, just appreciate your kindness so much. I think it's a personal preference with electronic cutting machines, but I really couldn't manage or cope without mine. It does so much for me and save me a lot of money over the years. Thank you again Ruth. x

  3. Such a sweet card Missy, and coloured to perfection! You are obviously a whizz with your cutting machine, but I hardly use my Brother, because it 'scuffs' up my card-stock (I think it's probably just me - in fact, I know it is), but card-stock is not cheap, so I don't bother. You do great things! Have a lovely weekend! Luv & Hugs. Hazel xx

    1. Thank you for your wonderful comments, you have certainly made my day! Aw that's a shame about your Brother machine, I have heard a few people say that its a learning curve with the scan and cut. Hope you manage to work around to using it again, But understand your reasons too. Have a lovely week. Hugs x

  4. Oh my goodness! What a sweet card, Missy. I love that you kept it simple with just 3 little Nuvo droplets. Sweet and classy - that's it! No need to apologise for the late visits. Have you noticed how late I am?! I've outdone you, my friend! Hope you are well.
