Altenew | Thinking of you

Hello there, well how's everyone bearing up from the Easter break? have you slightly overindulged with Easter treats? I must admit that I've enjoyed eating my favourite food type which is chocolate, but I have been very sensible and only had a little bit of chocolate at a time. Well yesterday I managed to squeeze in some crafty time and started by playing with a old favourite stamp set by Altenew that turn into this card.

Started with white A2 US card blank, using the medium Go Kreate medium circle die, I cut the circle from piece of white card and ran it through the cuttlebug machine. Stamped the layered roses onto the circle using the Altenew stamp set and my diy stamp tool using three colours of memento ink pads which were Angel pink, Rosebud and Love Letter. Then stamped the layered leaves using these colours Pear Tart, Cottage Ivy, Northern Pine memento ink pads.

Applied double sided foam tape to the back of the circle and place on the card blank just to the centre of the card. Cut a narrow stripe of white card and stamped the Thinking of you which is from Clearly Besotted Mini Messages stamp set using versa fine onyx black ink and my diy stamping tool. Slightly cut the stripe down to fitted and overlap the actual circle and adhered this with strong double sided tape onto the the circle die cut out just little lower down from the centre and used a ruler to make sure it was straight.

Spitz a little Shimmer spritz sparkle on some acetate and with a small narrow paintbrush brushed a little shimmer onto the roses. To finish I added a few AB sequins and used micro glue dots to stick them down.

I really enjoyed using this old stamp that I got free with a magazine last year and it's good to give it a new lease of life. Also it's allowed me to use my new memento ink pads that I'd purchased earlier this year and I'm loving using them so much. Do you enjoy using older stamps in your craft stash too?

This will be entered into the following challenges -

  2. Yes it was something different having the sentiment hanging over the die cut circle, I didn't think it would work but glad I did it as it looks quite nice and something a little different. Aw thank you dear friend for your kind words of support, this means so much to me. Hope you had lovely Easter break? Hugs x

  5. This is so pretty Missy. I love the look of 3 step stamping. I have stamps for it but had no time to play with them. Maybe they could be a class I do, so I get to use them.
