Greenery | 2017 Colour Of The Year

Hello there, today I'm sharing a card that is inspired by the Pantone colour of the year, when Pantone released the colour for 2017 I was delighted as it's such a calming colour and I don't use the greens as much as I should do. This definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and really found the process refreshing. Decided that the best colour to show Greenery at it's best was black and this how I got on.

Created A2 US size card blank using a piece of crelando card, using the big score board to create a fold at the top. Using the Silhouette Software I created rectangle panel and added internal offset to add the stitched effect, placed a piece of green crelando card on cricut mat and cut using the Silhouette Cameo. Whilst I was in the Silhouette software, typed Happy using Corey Font by Rhonna Farrer purchased at the Silhouette design store, cut this three times and cut a simple circle from Paperchase transfusion space dust vellum (sadly unavailable to purchase now)

Shacked the three Happy's on top of each other using zig fine glue pen. Cut a piece of black down to narrow strip and using my diy stamping tool, rub over the card with a little cornflour (anti static) and stamped Birthday from the Winnie and Walter stamp set using Versafine watercolour stamp pad and pour over WOW embossing opaque bright white embossing powder and heat set with heat tool. Stamped the smaller images from Waffle Flower Willy and Friends stamp set using Versafine watercolour pad and acrylic block all over the green rectangle panel.

Applied double sided foam tape to the back of the green panel and adhere it to the A2 US card blank. Using zig fine glue pen I adhered the happy to the vellum and added a little strong double sided tape to the back of vellum near the wording and adhered it to the front of the card just near the bottom right of the card. Cut a fishtail into the strip of black card that I've all ready stamped and embossed and added a little double sided foam tape to the back and adhere to the card just underneath the Happy sentiment. Finally added a few Nuvo drops in green and black.

I have thoroughly enjoyed creating this from a colour I don't usually use and it's definitely told that I need to try a lot more colours in the future. Do you like using the colour Green?

This will be entered into the follow challenges
