Hello there, back today with a card that was made especially for my Mum's Birthday, my Mum loves a slightly bigger cards so this is 8 x 8 inch and I think still perfect for CAS design. Loved creating a larger card than I normally do and shake it up a bit.
Started with two sheets of A4 300gsm card and cut one sheets by 8x8 and the second one by 8 x 9 and scored this one at one inch and applied strip of double sided tape to the scored piece and adhered this to the 8 x 8 inch card to create a card blank. In the Silhouette Software created square slightly smaller than the card blank then using the scissor tool and selected the solid shape option draw a line across the just near the middle to separate the square into two separate pieces of rectangles.
Imported two PNG digi stamp images from My Craft Studio Quintessential Country Garden CD ROM ( Sadly unavailable to purchase anymore) into the Silhouette Software and traced both flowers separately and created small offset around each flower, placed them on one of separated rectangles, near the bottom of the rectangle panel (top half this card) and making sure to make a copy of each before welding, remove the PNG digi stamp image and leave on one side, so you just have the cut file, then select all and welded them to together, repeated this twice and flipped the last two horizontally then replace the PNG stamp image to match the cut file, this is quite easy to do as this is such a easy image to line up. Print and cut the image. Then coloured the image in with WHSmith artist quality colouring pencils.
Print off a background from Polkadoodles Sundae of Seasons CD ROM, Using the leftover rectangle panel in the Silhouette Software then placed backing sheet on cricut mat and cut this on the Silhouette, Created a small circle again in the Silhouette Software using Paperchase transfusion space dust vellum (unfortunately unavailable to purchase anymore) and typed the word Mum using Corey font and cut this three times on black card. Shacked the word Mum on top of each other with zig fine glue pen. Added strip of silver glitter card to the printed background rectangle using thin strip of strong double sided tape then added double sided foam tape to the back of the panel and placed on this to the bottom of the card blank,
Placed strong double sided foam tape to digi stamp rectangle panel and adhere to the top of the card. On the back of the word Mum, added a little strong double sided tape ( so you can't see the adhesive when using vellum) and adhered it to the vellum, pressing firmly. Stamped Happy Birthday from Winnie and Walter The big, The Bold and The Happy stamp set and Versamark onyx black ink pad and acrylic block stamped the sentiment, poured over WOW clear embossing powder and heat set. Added some strong double sided tape to the back of vellum and placed just to the centre of the flowers. To finish added a few sequins and used micro glue dots to adhere them to the card,
Well it was nice to get out of my comfort zone creating this card and my Mum absolutely adored it too. Do you like making slightly bigger cards? Enjoy your weekend.

DeleteA really beautiful card Missy. I love using 8x8 cards. I love how you tell the whole story of how you made the card in Silhouette. You lost me with the flowers being added to the top half. haha. it doesn't take a lot to confuse me. Your colouring is beautiful. It just goes to show, all these alcohol pens are not needed. hugs Linda x
ReplyDeleteLinda I know what you mean as I'm the same, but thank you so much for your honest feedback regarding the instructions as I will try to make sure that in future I explain it better and I've update my blog post today to make better to understand. Thank you my friend Linny for your kindness and continue support, you always make me smile. Yes it's true about colouring pencils, that you can create similar effects like you would with alcohol markers. Have lovely Sunday. Hugs x
DeleteHi Missy, it wasn't a criticism of your post, it was about my brain. I think if I sat at my Cameo and followed what you did, I could probably do it. xxx
