Just For Easter | Silhouette Cameo

Hello all, well with Easter just around the corner nearly I'd thought that shared with you what I've made for my friend's grandchildren. I wanted something that was spring like and used the spring colour scheme.

On with the card, started with A2 (US size) tent fold card, using the silhouette cameo software I created stitched rectangle that I then cut out with green linen card using cameo and attached some funky foam to the back of the stitched rectangle with double sided tape, then adhere the matt to the card blank with the same double sided tape.

Again using a tag from the silhouette store, I added "Happy" to the bottom right of the tag and cut out using yellow linen card using the cameo, next I cut two ovals to act as Easter eggs also cut cameo using blue and pink linen card. Next used my Homemade stamping tool I stamped the eggs with bold diagonal stripes rubber stamp by MFT, using perfect medium and poured over Wow clear gloss embossing powder and heat set with heat tool.

Then stamped Easter from the Clearly Besotted Mini Messages stamps with Versafine onyx black ink pad and poured over the same Wow clear gloss embossing powder and heat set with heat tool. To assemble the card, I tied some wax cord to the top of tag and applied some double sided foam tape to the back of the tag and placed on the card just to bottom right of the card.
(Top tip for embossing is to use ladies pop sock with some cornflour inside and tie a knot at the top, this makes a inexpensive version to anti static bag)

Adhering the two eggs to just above the "Happy" using double sided tape and finally adding a few clear enamel dots and adhering them with Zig fine glue gel, this is where the reverse tweezers and the pokey tool comes in handy lol. ( The clear enamel dots, I created by squeezing some Anita's 3D gloss gel on brown craft mat and peel them off when they're fully dry.)   As you can see I made two of the same cards for the children in question. I don't usually make two of the same cards but thought on this occasion it would save time.

I decided to whip up some Easter treats for them as well, So I remember what I use to make near Easter when I was child, so made some chocolate cornflake cakes...oh it did bring some memories back for me that's for sure.

  1. These are so nice and simple - love the stripes on the eggs. I need to make some of those egg nests with my little ones - although I suspect most of the eggs and chocolate krispies will end up in the children before they end up in the cases!!! Xx
