Hello all, well it's sunny here for the past few days which is such a change from all the wintery weather, spring has definitely sprung. So hope the weather is just as nice too wherever you are world? Today I thought I'd share my latest make with you all, this was especially designed for friend's granddaughter who turns (you guess it) eleven very soon. When I was thinking about this card I really wanted to make it look a little more grown up and sophisticated.
On with the card, started with A2 (US size) black card blank folded at the top to create a tent fold, Using the silhouette cameo software, I created stitched rectangle and within that created a circle with the word Eleven in the middle and welded the circle to the word and cut out with the silhouette cameo. Next using the release compound within the software, I manage to use the negative and that allowed me to cut that out with silver glitter card to add dimension.
Using double sided foam tape I adhere the rectangle to the card blank, applied zig fine glue pen to the back of the glitter card cut out and applied this on the base card making sure it aligns correctly. Cut out tag shade with black card, rub over some cornflour (in pop sock - as this makes a great anti static bag alternative) using perfect medium I stamped "Today" and poured over the wow silver embossing powder and heat set with heat tool. Added some double sided foam tape to the back and adhere to the card just underneath the eleven. I think this makes the eleven stand out, don't you think? Finally added a few clear enamel dots and adhere them zig fine glue pen.. (Top tip - use reverse tweezers and a pokey tool to fix them to the card, this makes your life a whole lot easier)
I decided to create a little gift for the birthday girl in question, I purchased three nail polishes from local poundland and made gift box to put the polishes in. I did this using the boxer board by Crafter's Companion.
Afterwards I created a sleeve wrap using the same lilac card and the boxer board. I think both the card and gift as come out really well and I really hope the Birthday girl loves it as much as I've loved creating them.
