Eleven | Silhouette Cameo

Hello all, well it's sunny here for the past few days which is such a change from all the wintery weather, spring has definitely sprung. So hope the weather is just as nice too wherever you are world? Today I thought I'd share my latest make with you all, this was especially designed for friend's granddaughter who turns (you guess it) eleven very soon. When I was thinking about this card I really wanted to make it look a little more grown up and sophisticated.

On with the card, started with A2 (US size) black card blank folded at the top to create a tent fold, Using the silhouette cameo software, I created stitched rectangle and within that created a circle with the word Eleven in the middle and welded the circle to the word and cut out with the silhouette cameo. Next using the release compound within the software, I manage to use the negative and that allowed me to cut that out with silver glitter card to add dimension.

Using double sided foam tape I adhere the rectangle to the card blank, applied zig fine glue pen to the back of the glitter card cut out and applied this on the base card making sure it aligns correctly. Cut out tag shade with black card, rub over some cornflour (in pop sock - as this makes a great anti static bag alternative) using perfect medium I stamped "Today" and poured over the wow silver embossing powder and heat set with heat tool. Added some double sided foam tape to the back and adhere to the card just underneath the eleven. I think this makes the eleven stand out, don't you think? Finally added a few clear enamel dots and  adhere them zig fine glue pen.. (Top tip - use reverse tweezers and a pokey tool to fix them to the card, this makes your life a whole lot easier)

I decided to create a little gift for the birthday girl in question, I purchased three nail polishes from local poundland and made gift box to put the polishes in. I did this using the boxer board by Crafter's Companion.

Afterwards I created a sleeve wrap using the same lilac card and the boxer board. I think both the card and gift as come out really well and I really hope the Birthday girl loves it as much as I've loved creating them.

eBay Craft Haul

Hello all, I am back today with eBay haul, eBay is one of my all time favourite online sites to use to purchase my craft supplies. The items I've purchased, I've been wanting for some time but never got round to purchasing them..you know when normal life gets in the way.

The first buy was the pipettes, these are so super handy for so many things within crafting, so I just had to get some to have ready in my craft stash. The best thing is that these pipettes were only 99p for ten which was fantastic.

Next is the pokey tool, can you believe I've never had one of these tools, well I've seen so many of my fellow crafters have them and thought I need one. Again this was another bargain at £1.99.

Saving the best to the last, is these fabulous reverse action tweezers, yet again I've never had a pair of these as I've had to manage with plain tweezers. So when I was browsing eBay I thought why not...and added them to my basket. These tweezers were £3.60 so it was another bargain of the month.

So I hope this will help me, as well as help you see the supplies used much clearly.

Happy Mother's Day | Recollections Papers

Hello all, well I hope you are having great day? I thought I'd share with you a card I especially created for my Mum on Mother's day, I wanted something that little bit special and decided to use the recollections papers from Recollections Southern Charm 12 x 12 set that I'd purchased a few weeks back and just thought these papers suited Mother's day perfectly.

On will the card, I started with card blank just slightly wider than A5 card (tent fold) then adhered a narrow strip of the sparkle pink stripe papers to the left hand side of the card. Cut down a piece of the vintage flower paper down to fit the front of the card and adhered narrow strip of gold glitter card to the left side with strong double sided tape. Added some funky foam to the back of the vintage flower paper with double sided tape.

Taking a piece of tracing paper, that I cut to slightly wider to fit perfectly on the card front. Next using some cornflour for anti static, rubbed over the tracing paper and using the Winnie and Walter The big, the bold and the happy <----- click here clear stamps and perfect medium stamped the Happy Mother's Day then poured over distressed gold embossing powder, then heat set with heat tool. Wrapped the finished stripe around the card and applied double sided tape to the back. Applied double sided to the back of the funky foam and adhered to the card.

Using the Silhouette Cameo, I cut three Butterflies from the Silhouette Library <---- Click Here using neenah solar white card then stuck them together one on top of each other with zig fine glue pen, then triple embossing the butterfly with the distress gold embossing powder. Adhere to the card using the same zig fine glue pen. For the finishing touches I added some wink of stella clear glitter pen to the pink flowers and added a few sequins using micro glue dots to adhere them.
