Watercolouring | Poundland Watercolour Pens Review

Hello there, have you ever called in your discount store or thrift store and thought would that work for my crafting? well a few weeks back I was looking in my local Poundland store here in the UK and notice these double ended watercolour pens, I thought for a pound it was worth a try and was pleasantly surprised with the results. 

Started with A2 (US size) card blank, cut a piece of crawford and black cold press watercolour card down to fit slightly smaller than the card blank. Used a piece of hardboard, taped the watercolour card to the board using masking tape. Gave the card a little brush of water first and I scribbled three of the pens on ceramic tile.  

Watered the colours down with a little water and simply brushed the three colours across the watercolour card to create that artistic look. Dried with a heat tool as I'm not that patience to wait. Rub the panel with cornflour and with clear embossing ink I stamped "Hello my Friend" from the WW the big the bold and the happy stamp set using my diy stamping tool, Poured over some Wow gold embossing powder and heat set with heat tool.  

Sprayed a little sheer shimmer spray by imagine crafts to had that shimmer effect. cut a piece of fun foam down to fit the back of the watercolour card adhered with double sided tape and later adhering the panel to the card blank, pressing firmly as it's watercolour card and needs that extra pressure to adhere. Added a few clear AB sequins to finished which I adhered with micro glue dots.

My Favourite Crafty Things | Stamps #3

Hello there, well I'm back today with my final installment from this My Favourite Crafty Things mini series. Today as you would of already guessed is Stamps, I'm sure you're just like me and totally addicted to stamps. To be honest with you I wasn't always a stamping fan, can you believe? but the past two years or so I've loved using them so much and thoroughly enjoying stamping.   

Clearly Besotted Mini Messages - Well I originally purchased this set early last year and I've not stopped using them ever since. You have sentiment suitable for so many occasions and the font is simply stunning and oh so fresh and modern. 

Winnie and Walter The Big, The Bold and the Happy  - This set is packed full of wonderful sentiments that can be interchanged with the larger sentiment stamps included, again a simple and classy font that is perfect for so many greetings. 

Altenew Vintage Flowers - Any of you that follow me will know that I adore Altenew stamps and this set is no exception, the set allows you the stamp in layers to create a realistic 3D flower effect. 

My Favorite Things Herd it's your Birthday -  A cute, fun set that is array of farm yard animals with such sweet expressions, wonderful punny sentiments to match. A great set to have for children and adults alike and they will never date. 

My Favorite Things Diagonal Stripe background stamp - Perfect for creating backgrounds and such versatile stamp to have in your stash that is unisex to all genres. Red rubber means is superior quality and suitable for mix media.

My Favourite Crafty Things 2016 | Inks | #2

Hello there, back again with the second in my mini series of my favourite crafty things. Today is inks and we all need inks of all kinds don't we? There is so much choice in what to purchase and it can me mind field too. So I thought I'd share with you the inks I personally turn to on regular basis.

Paintbox Pigment Ink Option Pads by Colorbox - A rainbow of 12 stunning colours per set that suit would any occasion. Stamp together or you can lift each one out individually. Pigment inks are wonderful to have in your stash as they are a lot thicker than dye based inks and do tend to have glycerine base. I purchased mine many years ago when from eBay when I got the three sets for around £12 but you can still purchase them but they can be hard to get hold of as stock does get snap up pretty quickly. 

Perfect Medium Ink - This is one thing I just can't be without and always make sure I have one to hand, I tend to re ink the pads myself using  glycerine that you can purchase from most pharmacies, just add a few drops to the pad and allow to soak into the foam ink pad. This ink is so handy for watermark stamping and embossing too. 

Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad - This ink is fade resistant and will be water resistant once dry, suitable for many paper surfaces and works well with alcohol markers and will not bleed. Absolute delight to use and does what it says. 

Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad - I have used this particular ink pad since I began crafting and I know that it's so reliable and so perfect for picking up that fine detail. I also think it lasts a lot longer than other inks I've tried in the past. Versafine is made by Tsukineko, who are highly regarded in the craft industry. 

Distress Inks - Well I love my distress inks as they are so versatile for stamping, watercolouring and different watercolour effects and will work well with water as they as water based ink. I don't own that many of the colours but the ones I have do get used on regular basis. They can be re inked with their reinkers.

My Favourite Crafty Things 2016 | CD Roms| #1

Hello there, firstly I would like to apologies for being a little absence lately, this is due to personal circumstances that have had to take precedence over my crafting. Hopefully going forward that there will be a regularly amount of posts from now on, but I am slowly getting into my crafting again but not at the speed I would like it to be. 

      

So, on with the mini series itself, this is a first for me as can you believe I've not actually done a my favourite crafty things series before. I picked CD roms for my first series as they are quite unrated for my liking and not seem to be used as much my bloggers and paper crafters alike, which is such a shame as CD Roms are wonderful resource to have at hand. Personally I love CD roms as they ever so versatile and allows you to print off as often as you like at any time of the day or night, no running to the local craft shop also as it's appeal too. 

I do have large collection of CD Roms but decided to pick the ones I personally go to time after time. 

Polkadoodles All around and everywhere - This is such a wonderful CD which is jam packed with backing papers, embellies and digis alike and all in Nikki Hall's style. I can't recommend this CD enough.

My Craft Studio Dressing Up Dolly Divas - Crammed full of stunning designs inspired by fashion and full of wonderful backing paper and digi stamps. This one I've had for many years now and still love the unique designs that never date.

Bebunni  Baby - Well what can I say about this CD, it's filled with the cutest that is Bebunni. This particular one is super for new baby (as the name suggests) and christenings alike. The elements include backing papers, colorizer, printable images and many more. 

My Craft Studio Papercraft Library Men-y Happy Returns - This is a definite must in any ones stash, CD all to do with men and overs a wide range hobbies alike, including music, skateboarding, drumming, men at work and much much more. Men's cards can be difficult to create at times so anything that makes it easier for me is a winner.

My Craft Studio Quintessential English Garden - Floral paradise that is full of those beautiful english country garden flowers, feminine and simply stunning and I've used this so many times.

Buttons

Hello there, well I've been looking at all my old embellishments, which includes buttons and it got me thinking? I've not used my massive button supply for such a long time and thought it was high time I did. Buttons and ribbons don't seem to be used as much these days especially with CAS, which is definitely a shame as I love buttons and ribbons and think it's time they made a worthy come back. Don't you think?     

Created a A2 (US size) card blank using 300gsm white card cut down to 11 x 5.1/2 and folded at 5.1/2 using big score board and created the envelope to match using the envelobox board and score tool. Cut a stitched panel out of kraft card on the silhouette cameo, Using Go kreate medium circle  I placed the die to the back of the panel with some washi tape and ran this through the cuttlebug with tan mat and two B plates to emboss the panel. 

Removed the die and washi tape to show the embossing. Next using DIY stamping tool I stamped thank you from the Simply cards and papercraft Altenew free giveaway, inked using versafine onyx black ink pad. Selected a few of buttons from my stash and arranged them first so I knew where I wanted them to go and then adhere them glue dots. Applied double sided foam tape to the back of the panel and adhere to the A2 card blank. 

So glad I set myself a little project to use up old supplies and give them a new lease of life, I think the finished result came out well and I'll be back back using buttons again very soon. Have a great day!!
